The Project
When the time came for Design Well Spent Co. (DWSCO), a commercial interior design firm based in Seattle, to move out of their coworking office into a space of their own, the historic Terminal Sales Building checked all the boxes. The architectural charm, proximity to the bustling Pike Place Market, and stellar views made the choice easy. Not to mention, the abundance of design-focused neighbors in the building, including Curran Company just a few floors above their new office.
MaryBeth and her team guided us toward the SynSisal line for its durability features and customizable options. The chunkier woven texture and warm, natural tones offered in the SynSisal Langley line softens the office’s concrete floors, creating a foundation for the predominantly neutral workspace. The idea was to create a space that did not interfere with the designers’ creative process or the amazing views of the Puget Sound. Rounded form and alternating colors give interest and playfulness to an otherwise subdued material.
One year after installation, the rugs have worn beautifully and are a key element in the overall design of DWSCO’s home. We look forward to working with the Curran team on many projects to come.

SynSisal® is Curran & sisalcarpet.com’s proprietary and unique hard-wearing synthetic sisal alternative. It is unlike any other product on the marketplace for how it looks and performs in contract and hospitality settings. While there are other products out there that look like sisal, many are unbacked polypropylene which may be easy to clean but are not durable enough to withstand heavy foot traffic.
Our SynSisal® weaves are a sustainable choice in flooring. Made from 100% recycled materials (from fishing nets to recycled nylon carpeting to repurposed materials), these contract-grade weaves have low VOC contribution and are 100% regenerable.
